Routine of my choice- During my small group with the ELL students, I represented both oral and written communication with my students. The students were required to fill out worksheets prior to meeting with me. As we reviewed the worksheets together I modeled what my CT had done a week prior and asked the students to sound out the words and try their best to say the word in English. I wrote the word out on a white board for them so they could correct any of their spelling in blue pen. I also asked them to teach me the spanish word so communication was being learned and taught both ways. I talked about this in my reflection blog and the written aspect is represented through the blue pen corrections made by the students on their papers.
Morning Meeting- During the morning meeting routine, everything that my group and I discussed was presented on the board for all students to see. One piece of feedback I received during the morning meeting debrief was that my voice was clear and controlled throughout my section of the morning meeting. Supervisor Observation- During this routine, I was able to have a clear and loud voice. My CT told me afterword that my teacher voice is really developing! CT Observation- At the end of the read aloud, the students and I shared a problem we've had and how we learned and grew from it. When the student's were done sharing their problem and solution, I explained to them a personal story of my own problem and solution. I stated that I was always tired and that I learned that by getting the proper amount of sleep and eating healthy, I was able to learn and grow from that problem. This represents good oral communication with the students and I was making a text-to-life connection with the students. |
