Supervisor Observation- When lining the student's up for specials I created a competitive environment for the students by telling them that they were competing against my "teacher friend's" classroom to see who could be the quietest in the hallway. I also went over hallway expectations before lining up the students and taking them into the hallway, therefore they understood I had expectations for how they should behave before we started the routine.
CT Observation- Before reading for my read aloud routine, I told the students that by the end of the book, they should be able to explain to me what the theme was and point out two pieces of text evidence to explain the theme. By explaining the learning objective to the students, I stated my expectation for after the read aloud. I also began the lesson by explaining my expectations for behavior. I did this by asking a student to model "active listening". |
