Morning Meeting- To start off the morning meeting, I introduced a new attention getter to use if necessary. My group also incorporated voice levels throughout the morning meeting to ensure that direction was heard.
Supervisor Observation- During my Supervisor observation, before we lined up, I reviewed hallway expectations with the students by having a model student explain that our voice level should be zero. By setting high expectations before we lined up and implementing the voice levels into my expectations, students were aware of proper hallway behavior on the way to specials. I encouraged the students during the routine by complimenting their good behavior. I waited for silence before calling tables to line up at the door. I also planned for misbehavior in my lesson plan but did not have to use any interventions during this routine. CT Observation- During my CT Observation, I had a student model active listening and explain that students should be facing forward, with a voice level zero and hands at their sides. Throughout the read aloud, I gave verbal reminders that the voice level should be level zero. I also used one of my CT's attention getters after we did small group discussion to get the student's attention back to the front: *point to eyes*, "do this if you can see me", *point to ears*, "do this if you can hear me". |
