Supervisor Observation Cycle 1: For this lesson, I used CPALMS 4th grade health standards to shape my lesson on mental health. I used these standards to influence my lesson objective and the activities involved. I included a sticky note activity as morning work to address HE.4.B.4.3 and HE.4.C.1.2, this engaged the students and was used as a formative assessment to help me guide the students to better understand what mental health is and how to manage good mental health. For my summative assessment exit ticket, I addressed HE.4.CE.5.2 and HE.4.C.2.2 where the students had open-ended questions that connect the standard to their own lives. Every element of the lesson is thoroughly thought out and influenced by the grade-level standards.
For all of my lessons this semester, I used CPALMS 2nd grade ELA standards to guide me through my instrcution. I used these standards to create an objective for each lesson, a formative assessment, and an exit ticket. The state-adopted standard allowed me to be able to align my lesson and ensure all aspects of the lesson were aimed at that target standard. It encouraged me to analyze which level of blooms taxonomy was being asked of students and how I can frame my lesson to reach this level with all students.
