Evidence:
Within all of my lessons, I try to relate it to a student's real life experience because I believe it is these connections that help the content stick with the students the most. For example, I did a lesson on extreme weather and tornadoes a few days after the students had an extreme weather drill and had to sit in the classroom and cover their heads. At the time of the drill, many students were confused as to why they had to cover their heads and what severe weather consisted of. Knowing this information and the lack of knowledge surrounding the topic of severe weather, I made sure to relate tornadoes and tornado warnings on the phone to the drill the students had to do the week prior.
